    The common causes of diaper rash are exposure to friction, excessive hydration, varying pH, and constant contact of the diapered skin with urine and faeces. Fungal and bacterial infections are also thought to be likely causes of diaper rash.

    Q2: What are the signs of diaper rash?

    Signs of diaper rash may include:
    Prolonged periods of crying together with agitation, changes in sleeping patterns, and lower frequency of urination and defecation.
    Depending on the severity of the diaper rash, the surface area of skin redness may vary, and in some cases may appear glossy, bleeding, or some oozing.

By forming a protective and flexible barrier, Bepanthen Baby Ointment helps to protect the most delicate skin for up to 10 hours*. It is hypoallergenic and does not contain added preservatives, colourants and fragrance. This makes it suitable for all babies, including newborns, due to its gentle and safe formulation.

    Q5: How to use Bepanthen Baby Ointment?

    Infant care: At each nappy (diaper) change, spread Bepanthen Baby Ointment over your baby’s bottom and groin after cleaning these areas thoroughly with water.

    Nursing mothers: Apply Bepanthen Baby Ointment to the nipples after each breastfeeding. It is recommended to clean the breast before each breastfeeding.

    Damaged skin: Apply once daily or more, as needed.

    Bepanthen Baby Ointment do not contain added colorants, fragrances, or preservatives. It can be used as often as necessary or desired.

    Q12: What should I do if the rash does not improve after the application with Bepanthen Baby Ointment?

    Mothers/Caregivers are advised to frequently change diapers every 2-3 hours or if the diapers are soiled. Prior to changing the infant, clean the area (genitals & buttocks) with clean water using a soft gentle cloth, avoid rigorous rubbing or excessive use of wet wipes especially if the infant is sensitive to the material. 
    After cleansing, apply Bepanthen Baby Ointment to protect the baby’s skin. If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your healthcare professional.

    Q13: Can Bepanthen Baby Ointment be used after keeping it for a long time? (if the color turns into obvious yellow and become liquid)

    After using Bepanthen Baby Ointment, close the tube tightly and store it away from heat and out of reach of children. It is advisable to not use Bepanthen Baby Ointment after its expiry date on the packaging. 

    Q14: Is it necessary to apply powder after applying Bepanthen Baby Ointment?

    It is not necessary to apply powder after applying Bepanthen Baby Ointment onto the skin.
